November Birthstones: Citrine and Topaz

Happy birthday month, November babies!

November is another lucky month that has two birthstones to choose from—citrine and topaz.
It is said that both of these gems are calming and are tokens of good luck for those who wear them!

Citrine

       Citrine is a gorgeous orangey-yellow gemstone that is a perfect fit for autumn’s color palette. Its name was inspired by citrus fruit (“citron”) due to this vibrant color:

       Citrine is a fairly hard gemstone, measuring 7 on the Mohs hardness scale (Diamond, which is the hardest stone, measures 10). Citrine is great for different types of jewelry, especially rings, because it’s durable and resists most scratches.

Topaz

       If you’re not a fan of orange colored citrine, November’s second birthstone is topaz, which comes in a range of colors from clear, to yellow, pale green, reddish-orange, pink, brown, and blue. Pure topaz is colorless and gets its colors from impurities within the stone! Who would have thought impurities were a good thing?
